New York. Very Good. 1979. Hardcover. All shipments through USPS insured Priority Mail at no additional cost. ; Three paragraph letter: "Dear Randy Warner / "Canary in a Cathouse [sic.]" is an extremely rare little paperback collection of short stories which isn't worth owning except as a rarity. Most of the stories in it can be found in "Welcome to the Monkey House." I have no idea where you could find a copy. Practically the whole edition was pulped. / As for making a movie of "Sirens": sorry, but the rights have been sold. Nobody in production has talked to me and I haven't seen a script. You have the right idea, though: the special effects should be transparently cheap. / I like Ted Sturgeon a lot. His name, of course, did inspire me to call my invention "Trout." I experimented with "Pickerel" too, and "Muskellunge" and so on. I did not borrow Sturgeon's intelligence or admirable soul.; Cheers, Kurt Vonnegut" With original "USPS veterinary medicine" envelope addressed to Randy Warner of Flint, Michigan in Vonnegut's hand. ; 11 x 8 in.; 1 pages; Signed by Author .
