Two parts in one, continuously paginated. With three copper-engraved plates: Frontis to first work: " Alvarez Semedo" after Thomas Cross, "Mandarin… & his Wife" p. 29 & second frontis ( to Martinius' Tarter Conquest): "Thein Mingus, Emperor of the Western Tartars." Two copper-engraved maps: "Situs Provinciarum Imperii Sinici MDCLIV" facing p. 255, & "An Exact Mapp of China, being faithfully Copied from one brought from Peking by a Father Lately resident in that Citty 1655," the latter folding and placed by the binder at the very front of the book. Two pages of advertisements for books printed for John Crook. Large folding map has ancient repairs and worming; lengthy 18th century ownership inscription to back of frontis; worming throughout, some affecting text. Nonetheless a handsome copy with all the requisite parts nicely bound in half forest-green morocco. ; Quarto 27.5 x 18.5 cm; [x], 308, [2] pages
